So sorry for you loss of Elsie. I so loved it when, at church, she would come up to me and say, "Hi friend". She would say that when I would see her at Twin Oaks as well. I hated that COVID came along where I couldn't go up to see her and a few dear others. She had a special place in my heart. I loved her orneriness.

I have such fond memories of working with Elsie at Lehman's Store in Booker. I had not had any "real" job experience except working during college, and when I joined Lehman's Store, Elsie taught me about the value of working hard and doing the job right. She was such an inspiration to me - always happy, honest, and so reliable. Her passing will leave a hole in the fabric of the Booker community.
