Elsie Leota Trosper, 99 of Booker, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 27, 2020.

Services will be 2:00 pm Friday, December 4 at Booker Friends Church with Ralph Maxfield officiating. Burial will follow at Heart Cemetery.

Elsie was born September 25, 1921 to John Simpson and Minnie Stapp Simpson at the homestead in Beaver County, Oklahoma.  Elsie attended school and graduated from the South Flat one room school house.

On September 23, 1943, she married E.J. Trosper and they created a wonderful life together in Booker raising their two boys, Marvin and Jay.  She worked many jobs over the years including the Highland Hotel Coffee shop, Lehman’s Grocery and FirstBank Southwest. She retired from the bank at 62 to take care of E.J., but continued to run the bank’s popcorn machine as the “popcorn lady” until 2004.

Elsie had a servant’s heart and was always a caretaker.  She treasured her family always and enjoyed traveling to Amarillo and Bowling Green Kentucky to see her sons, grandkids and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, her son Marvin Trosper, daughter in law Johnnie Trosper, her parents and 10 siblings.

Survivors include one son, Jay Trosper of Amarillo, grandchildren Tuesdi Helbig and husband Shawn of Bowling Green Kentucky; Sarah McBride and husband Ryan of Canyon; Blair Trosper of San Jose California; one sister Oneta Hoover of Booker; great grandchildren Dylan and Zoe Helbig and Sawyer and Remi McBride.

The family would like to thank Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Booker for their loving care.
