Marjorie June Doroh Cady was born in Grayling, Michigan, on December 26, 1923, the only child of Walter Herman and Majorie Mae Muth Doroh.   She lost her dad at an early age to polio.

As a youth, she and friends would walk to the skating rink and ice skate until closing, then walk or catch a ride home exhausted.  She spent many hours tromping through the woods with friends and family, often taking a picnic lunch, sometimes picking berries or hunting mushrooms.  She enjoyed gathering pussy willows and trailing arbutus to bring home for her father, who was bed fast.

After graduating from Grayling High School, she married Sherman Lawrence Cady and to this union 3 children were born, Steven Lawrence, Linda Jean and Julia Ann.  She was a den mother for her son’s cub scout den, hosting meetings in her home.  June was a longstanding member of the Rebekah Lodge in Michigan, and later in Oklahoma.

The family moved to Laverne, OK, when her husband was transferred to the Sun plant west of town.  June was a member of the Laverne United Methodist Church.  She later worked at Fort Supply in food service until her retirement.  Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, reading, gardening, bird watching, working puzzles and cooking for friends and family.  She shared her delicious custard with many Laverne residents, taking it to church dinners or to some one who was ill or had lost a loved one or sometimes “just because”.  Another hobby she was well-known for was sending cards with handwritten notes.  One recipient said of her treasured note card, “It’s just like having a visit with her!”

She adored her grandkids and spent many hours traveling with Marsha to watch her Laverne grandkids play ball or participate in other activities. Many board games were played at her table when the out of town grandkids came to visit, and she loved coming out the winner--with bragging rights.  June also dearly loved her grand dog, Taz, with whom she shared many afternoons.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Julie.

Survivors include Steve and Marsha Cady of Laverne; Linda and Joe Phelps of Joplin, MO; grandchildren:  Scott Cady of Norman, OK; Jessica and Scott Vaughan of Laverne; Charlie Cady of Stillwater, OK; Michelle and Jonathon Baumgardner of Massuchetts; Doug and Lynsie Steinley of Columbia, MO; Mark and Tami Lemon of Moore, OK; Randy Barnes of Shattuck, OK; and Jennifer and Jake Atchison of Loveland, CO; 9 great grandchildren and many friends.
