Victor Rudolph Slavick, Cedar Park, TX Victor Rudolph Slavick, Cedar Park, TX passed away Wednesday November 18th, 2020 at the age of 89.  Vic died peacefully at home with family by his side.

Vic, also known as Rudy by many, was born on May 23, 1931 in  Englewood, Kansas to Father Victor George Slavick and Mother Florence Mabel Slavick.  He grew up in western Oklahoma, attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with degrees in Mathematics, Geology and Geophysics.  He later pursued a master's degree in Geophysics at Washington University in St. Louis and this background led to a career in Oil and Gas exploration that took him all over the world, where his professional skills were lauded, many wonderful friendships built, and his love of travel nurtured.

Vic loved his work but defined himself first as a father and husband.  He loved without reserve his extended family, his many friendships that lasted a lifetime, the people of western Oklahoma, OU football and the Colorado mountains.  He was quick with a smile, always more than a little ornery, and a gifted storyteller.  Vic was also a spiritual man and along with Mary enjoyed involvement in many church activities and groups. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Vic is preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Mary Lynne Slavick; his brothers Bill Slavick and Jim Slavick and his sister Vicki Taylor.  He is survived by his children Melissa Slavick Manes, Ken Slavick, John Slavick and Jason Slavick; his grandchildren Adam, Victor, Taylor, Ryan and Will, his great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 November 25th at the Laverne Cemetery in Laverne, OK. Father Christuraj Maddhichetty will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, people wishing to honor Vic’s life may make contributions to Hospice Austin, who provided outstanding compassionate care in his final days.
