Tomie Rogers Obituary

Tomie A. Rogers was born February 7,1948 at the family farm southwest of May Oklahoma to Willard and Ruth Jemes Rogers, he was the youngest of 13 children.  He passed away October 15,2025 due to a vehicle accident.

Tomie grew up in the May community where he attended elementary school and then went on to graduate from Laverne High School with the class of 1966.  He then attended college for a few semesters before realizing it wasn’t for him.  He went on to serve in the Navy and was with the National Guard for many years before retiring.   He was very proud of serving his country and being a veteran.  After serving his time in the military he later worked for Fruit of the Loom, John Bruce Electric and finally retiring from UPS in Woodward.  He loved his customers and treasured his time serving the Buffalo community.  Many friendships were formed and he treasured them all.

His most prized title was being “Pa” to all the kiddos that they watched in their home.  He always had a love for children, and they were drawn to him also.  Kenna and Kaitlin Vaughan have always been his girls and he loved them so much.

Tomie enjoyed spending time in any casino, fishing with the guys and spending time visiting with friends and family.  His smile, wit, and stories will last in our hearts and memories for years to come.

He was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Ruth, siblings Wayne Rogers and Arlene, Leroy Rogers, Betty Herring, Marvin Rogers, Eldon and Virginia Rogers, Shirley and Gene Weiszbrod, Mary and Jim Harber, Donald Rogers, Pat Rogers, Carolyn Rogers, and Lowe Freeman.

Tomie is survived by two sisters Stella Freeman of Woodward OK. And Glenda Reinier of Madison Wisconsin, many nieces and nephews and special family the Vaughan’s as well as many friends.
