TROY BLANE POWERS

  Troy Blane Powers was born on October 17, 1960 in Okinawa to Jimmy and Beulah Powers. He entered his forever, heavenly home on February 11, 2021.
Troy grew up north of Gage, Oklahoma, on the family farm where he enjoyed taking care of the animals and working on old cars. He attended Gage High School and graduated in 1979. During his school years he enjoyed hanging out with friends, playing foosball and other arcade games at the Pizza Den in Shattuck, dragging Main Street, and riding motorcycles.
After graduating high school he went into the Army. In 1985, he entered the Air Force Reserves and trained at Chanute AFB in Champagne, Illinois. He got his lab technician certification at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio and Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX. While working in the reserves in his early years he also worked at the Gage Weather Station. Throughout his 20 year career in the Air Force Reserves, he served at Tinker AFB in Midwest City, OK and McConnell AFB in Wichita, KS.
He married Patricia Meller on May 30, 1986. A year later they had their only child, Alexia. He resided in Kansas for 16 years until he moved back to Oklahoma in 2010, where he spent the remainder of his life working at El Tipi in Shattuck, piddling at the family farm, spending time with his granddaughter, and caring for his elderly mother. 
Troy is survived by his mother, Beulah Powers; daughter, Alexia, husband Josh, and granddaughter Avery; brother, Terry Powers and wife JoAnne; nephew, Shawn Powers and wife Brandi; niece, Yolanda Grazier and husband Logan; and many great- nieces and nephews. 
He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Powers; grandparents, Delmar and Pearl Powers, Fay and Irene Walton; and cousin, Danny Rush.
