Susan Gayle (Carpenter) Sanders

Susan Gayle Carpenter Sanders, 73, of Beaver, OK passed away January 26, 2023 peacefully at her residence. Susan was born July 22, 1949 to Corlis B. Carpenter Jr and Jean E. Schutte in Galveston, TX.  She was a graduate of the Ball High School class of 1967 in Galveston, TX.  She was a member of the Ball High School Band. She earned her Associates Degree from Galveston College.

Susan was an Administrative Coordinator/1 for the Portsmouth VA Fire Department and retired from the fire department in 2012.  Susan reunited with her high school sweetheart, Doug Sanders and they were married May 4, 2012 at their 45th High School reunion. Susan loved going to the casino and traveling.  She was an avid “Facebooker”, who loved watching game shows and Hallmark movies.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents Corlis Carpenter and Jean Schutte, a brother, Tommy, a sister, Dale and a brother, Bob. 

Susan is survived by her loving husband, Doug Sanders of Beaver, OK.  A daughter, Heather Harkleroad of Portsmouth, VA. A brother David Carpenter of Santa Fe, TX. Son, Michael Sanders and wife Michelle of Beaver, OK. Son, Antone Sanders and wife Tish of Amarillo, TX. Daughter, Christi Sharp and husband Patrick of Beaver, OK. a Nephew,  Kris Carpenter and wife Trisha of League City, TX. Eleven Grandchildren: Alyssa Johnson, Adysen Harkleroad, Meagan Harkleroad Feken, Samantha Sharp, Cody Sharp, Dillon Sharp, Nancy Sanders, Kaylee Sanders, Natalie Sanders, Brian Sanders, Madison Goodman and 3 Great Grandchildren: AJ, Khloie and Rylee

Susan's Memorial Service will be Saturday February 11, 2023 at 10:30 am at the Beaver Church of Christ, 424 Ave E, Beaver, Oklahoma
