Royle "RA" Arthur Devore Jr.

Royle “RA” Arthur Devore Jr. at the age of 72, died September 24, 2020, at the Western Skilled Nursing and Therapy at Buffalo, Oklahoma.

                RA was born on January 14, 1948, at Woodward, Oklahoma to Royle and Roena (Petty) Devore. He spent his childhood on the family ranch south of Laverne.

                He attended and graduated in 1966 from Laverne High School, where he was active in FFA and played basketball.

                RA graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree of science in agriculture and a master’s degree in administration in 1972.

                In 1971, He taught Vocational Agriculture at Taloga, Oklahoma and at Arnett, Oklahoma. Next, he was an Ag teacher and principal at Waynoka, Oklahoma.

                RA served as Ellis County Extension Agent for 15 years, retiring in 2000.

                RA and Alma Josephine “Jodi” Winters were married February 14, 1986.

                He was preceded in death by his parents; Royle and Roena Devore, sister Susan Henricks, brother in laws, Ted Black and Jay Henricks and niece Jesseca Ann Sage.

                RA is survived by his wife Jodi, son Jon Jay “JJ” and Danelle “Dani” and grandson Deacon Jon Devore, nephew in law, Rick Sage, great niece, Kayla Sage and nephew Jay W. Henricks.
