Renee Lelaine (Yaple) Gates, 74, of Cimarron Kansas, passed away Thursday, March 14th, 2024. She was born July 19th, 1949, in San Diego, CA to Lois Mae Jones and Charles Isham Yaple.
Renee spent her childhood growing up in San Diego, CA and Ashland, KS. She had the honor of starting her family in Cimarron, KS. On December 20th, 1997 she married Clark Gates in Las Vegas, NV. They later moved to Southern Utah where Renee worked as an Iron County Appraiser for 14 years. Renee had an adventurous Spirit. She had many loves and hobbies. Spending time with her loved ones was her greatest joy. She enjoyed fishing, traveling and nature. Renee gleamed with joy in telling of her many adventurous trips to California, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, and Canada for fishing, camping, sight-seeing, family, and friendship. Renee and Clark moved to Kansas in 2021 to enjoy being closer to family.
Survivors include the love of her life, husband Clark of their home in Cimarron, KS; Kathryn Watts and husband Scott of Manhattan, KS; John Osborn and wife Joannie of Cimarron, KS; Frank Osborn and wife Charlet of Reno, NV; Steve Gates of Henderson, NV; Carrie Ramsour and husband Daniel of Grass Valley, CA; 12 grandchildren, Melissa, Michelle, Dennis, Quiten, Jordan, Janee, Jaira, Evelyn, Garrett, Cameron, Wesley, and Ember; 10 great grandchildren: two siblings, Robin Speer (Dennis) of Lakin, KS, Mari Lynn German (Pat) of Garden City, KS; sister-in-law, Janice Yaple of Heartwell, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceding her in death include her parents, brother Patrick Yaple, and her beloved dog, Badger.
There will be no public viewing or memorial service in honor of Renee’s wishes. For those wishing to honor Renee’s memory, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org.
