Paulette "PJ" Love Obituary

Paulette “PJ” Love was born on January 31, 1946, in Brisbane Australia to Paul and Sarah McLinsky. PJ, surrounded by family at home, peacefully continued her everlasting life on March 31, 2024.

Being the daughter of an Army Master Sargent, PJ got to travel to many places as a child with the fondest memories of Alaska. The skiing and the moose she talked about the most. She finished her high school education in Cache Oklahoma in 1963. She enjoyed being a stay-at-home spouse and taking care of her family. After moving to Laverne Oklahoma for the first time, she worked as a scrub nurse in the Laverne hospital and the Shattuck hospital and enjoyed every minute of the work. After the hospital closed in Laverne, PJ worked as a waitress in a local café Ellymay’s where she met the love of her life. After moving to Colorado, PJ graduated cosmetology school in Greeley Colorado. PJ ran and operated her own beauty shop for a few years in Platteville Colorado and then relocated to a JC Penny store in the Greeley mall. In 1997 PJ moved back to Laverne where she ran another beauty salon for a short time but then teaming up with Deanna Laverty in a local friendly spot on Jane Jayroe. In 2011 PJ retired from cosmetology to live her final years with her beloved husband.

On September 9, 1964, PJ married Jerry Don Linville of Chickashe Oklahoma where they had one child Jerry Paul Linville. PJ remarried February 14, 1975, to John Maker where they had a daughter Dusty De’Lyn Marker “Love”. Finally, PJ found the love of her life and married Delbert “Butch” Love on October 1, 1983, in Estes Park Colorado. She gained a son and daughter in law in Dale and Bobbie Thomas. PJ was proceeded in death by her parents Paul and Sarah McLinsky, John maker in 2016, Jerry Don Linville in June of 2022, and Delbert Love in January of 2022.

Throughout her life she loved being on and around horses. At 18 months old she was ready to take on the west and ride off into the sunset riding a pony. Her love for the west and Oklahoma especially was strong and always on her mind. She enjoyed being in Colorado and the mountains but the call for the rolling hills of Red Carpet country was always there pulling. The Native American culture is evident in her home décor along with a little bit of the Duke thrown in by Butch. She loved bowling with her friends at the local bowling lanes and always looked forward to a night of competitive pin counting. Sometimes you could catch Butch and PJ dancing in the kitchen to a romantic country song on the radio.

PJ is survived by her brother Edward L McLinsky and his wife Neva; Her son Dale Thomas and his wife Bobbie of Laverne, Oklahoma; Her son Jerry Paul and his wife Carrie of Laverne, Oklahoma; Her daughter Dusty De’Lyn and her partner Amy of New York. Her grandchildren: Amy and husband Juan Torres; Cristal and David Wallis; Traci and husband Jesse Sluss; Gracey Juarez and Emilio Juarez. Her great grandchildren Juan and Victoria Torres, Dalton and Dovie Shuman, Annabeth and Elias Sluss, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
