Michael Gene Stonehouse was born in Greensburg, Kansas on January 27th, 1974 to Bobby Gene Stonehouse and Sandra Sue Martin, and has passed away at the age of 52 on March 15th, 2026. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Sue Martin Miller, and his step-father, Gordon Lee Miller, as well as his sister, April Marie Stonehouse. He is survived by his father; Bobby Gene Stonehouse, his sister; Carrie Ann Hall, his four brothers; Timothy Shawn Miller, Christopher Ross Miller, Scott Ryan Stonehouse, and Matt Stonehouse, as well as his three sons; Tracer, Eli, and Isaiah, and grandchildren
After graduating high school and attending Fort Hays university for a time, Michael enlisted in the Navy and spent time as a crew member on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower from 1995-1998, working on underwater welding near Japan. After returning home, Michael continued welding for some time before taking up ranching on his family's farmland near Ashland, Kansas. At the time of his death, he had a dog; Shadow, chickens, and cattle. He was also learning more about animal trapping and applying that to his work on his farm.
The memorial service will be held on March 28th, 2026 at the Ashland, Kansas VFW at 201 W 8th. The private service will begin at 10:30 A.M. for family, and at 1:00 P.M. the memorial will be opened to the community for anyone who wants to offer their condolences to the family. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the local VFW in memory of Michael Stonehouse.
