Mervyn Delayne Harrelson of Follett, Texas passed away on April 25, 2025. He was born in Follett on April 9, 1938 to Clarence and Mildred (Barton) Harrelson. Mervyn graduated from Follett High School in 1956.
After attending Oklahoma State University, Mervyn came back to Follett to take over the family farm. Upon returning to Follett, he and Camille (Hill) Harrelson married on January 14, 1966. To this union two daughters were born; Michele and Misti.
Mervyn served his community as a member of the Follett School Board, the Farmers Grain and Supply Board, the Lipscomb County Appraisal Board, the ASCS County Committee, and the Volunteer Fire Department. Mervyn retired from farming in 2003 and remained in Follett until January 2017 when he moved to Amarillo to be closer to his daughters.
Mervyn was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 48 years. He is survived by his daughters, Michele and H. McMillan of Dale TX, and Misti Harrelson and B.R. Hopson of Amarillo, TX; two grandchildren, Bryson and Chani, and many friends.
