Melvin Earl Bozarth

Melvin Earl Bozarth, our beloved Husband, Father, and Papa, was born in the family home on November 8, 1952, in Laverne, Oklahoma to Auto Fay and Eula Francis (Colten) Bozarth.  He attended Laverne Public Schools. He was united in marriage to Teresa Ann Hayes on July 10, 1969.  To this union three children were born Tricia Tiede, Melvie Bozarth, and Franny Longo.

Melvin was a man of many trades.  Among many of his jobs was being a Rig Mover for Hodge Trucking & Turner Brothers, Equipment hand for Harper County.  He worked as an Electrician for the City of Laverne, as a Welder for Lane Trailer Company in Chickasha, OK, and hauled crude oil for UPG.  Melvin & Terry began Bozarth Kennels in 1992, with the help of numerous family members, worked many long hours for 10 years. Aside of the dog business, he ran a herd of sheep, Brahma cattle, and broke horses for many people.  Anyone that knew Melvin, knew he always had a dog as his sidekick.  His most recent precious girl was Gidget.  In the past, Tooter Bug, Shirley Anne, Teaspoon, Little Girl, Bailey, & Buddy, all held a special place in his heart.  Melvin always loved spoiling his horses.  Among the many that he cared for were Blackie, his buckskin Champagne, and lastly his paint horse Nuisance.  Along with the horses & dogs, he enjoyed caring for his skunks, barn cats, the koi fish in the pond he built with his family, and all the wild birds. 

Melvin and Terry met at school in Laverne in 1967.  The first 10 years of their marriage they resided in the Laverne area.  In 1980, they moved to Marshfield, Missouri, to start a dairy farm operation along with his brother Ivan and family.  In 1982, they moved back to the Laverne homeplace in Eastern Beaver County, remodeled the home, of which is still the current homeplace.  Melvin peacefully passed away in the home he was born in, surrounded by family September 3, 2021, at the age of 68.

Melvin was proceeded in death by his parents, Auto & Eula Bozarth, and brothers David & Ivan Bozarth. He is survived by his wife Terry of the home; oldest daughter Tricia Tiede of Wichita, KS, and grandson Seth & Kaelyne Beck, great grandchildren Anna Belle, Viviana, Tessa, & Helix.  Son Melvie & April Bozarth of Laverne, Oklahoma, & grandsons Axton & Kache.  Youngest daughter Franny & Chance Longo of Shattuck, Oklahoma, and grandchildren Kayden, Sydney, Laney, Gemma, Wyatt, & Jett.  Brothers Marvin & Rosie Bozarth of Roosevelt, UT.  Auto & Doris Bozarth of Derby, Kansas.  Sister Faye & Billy Firth of Laverne, Oklahoma.  As well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
