Lois Lorraine (Mason) McClung was born November 3, 1925 to Herbert and Lillian (Anders) Mason. She passed peacefully on January 12, 2022 in Shattuck, Oklahoma.
Lois was named after her fathers’ friends daughter Lois. She started country school at the age of 4. She completed the 2nd and 3rd grades in one year. She attended her Freshman and Sophomore years in Clutier, Iowa and Junior and Senior years in Dysart. While in school she was in the band playing the tenor saxophone. She also played the accordion and was a cheerleader. Lois was a self-taught piano player later learning to read music. While at the Clutier School she was crowned Miss Clutier.
After graduating from Dysart in 1942 at the age of 16, Lois attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. After Leaving AIB she put her skills to work at the Fitch Company, Thompson-Hayward Chemical Company and finally spent from 1966 to 1991 at DHS in Buffalo, Oklahoma.
Lois always enjoyed dressing nicely, having nice shoes and her “baubles”. She also enjoyed golf, bowling, dancing, playing cards, watching NASCAR, scratch off Lotto tickets, painting, reading mysteries and working daily crossword puzzles.
Lois had three children; Carlotta Baggs of Laverne, Oklahoma, Paulette (Arthur) Price of Twitchell, Texas and Robert McClung of May, Oklahoma. Grandchildren; Misti Linville, Eric Mix, Brandon Johnston, Brianna Price, Michelle McClung, Natalie McClung, Monica McClung and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, a nephew, a son-in-law and a great grandson.
Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
