Leslie Wayne Moore, 81, of Ashland, KS passed away on December 8th, 2025, at Ashland Health Center. He was born on February 6th, 1944, to Lorraine Moore.
He graduated from Dodge City High School in 1962 and married Sherry Bailey in 1963. Leslie was in the food industry all his life before settling in Ashland in 1974. When he purchased the local grocery store which became a family legacy that their kids and grandkids are carrying on to this day.
Leslie always enjoyed car races, car shows, and casinos. In his spare time, he could also be found browsing other grocery stores, searching for store equipment, and wandering auctions. Les enjoyed all his hobbies, but none nearly as much as following all his kids and grandkids to their assorted activities. He was their biggest fan. Les also loved his community and was a proud supporter of various teams, activities, as well as any and all community events.
Les was proceeded in death by his mother, Loraine Moore of Ashland. His wife, Sherry (Bailey) Moore of Ashland. He survived by his son Lane (wife Angela) of Enid, OK; daughter Heather (husband Brad) of Ashland, KS; and son DJ (wife Emily) of Shattuck, OK; grandson. Logan Moore of Tonkawa, OK; granddaughter, Shayna of Tonkawa, OK; granddaughter, Aspen of Lawrence, KS; grandson, Corey of Ashland, KS; granddaughters, Saige and Lyla of Shattuck, OK; as well as seven great grandchildren; sister Susan Funke (Randy) of Kentucky, and many nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorials in Les’s name be given to Ashland Community Foundation and/or Ashland Senior Center.
