Kenneth "Wayne" Sizelove Obituary

Kenneth ”Wayne” Sizelove, 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April, 21, 2024. His funeral service will be held Thursday, April 25 at First Baptist Church Laverne at 2:00 pm. The family would love to have friends and family join in a visitation in the fellowship hall from 12:30-1:30.

Wayne was raised at his family ranch in Slapout, OK by his parents Mary (Holmes) and Ivo Leon (Billy) Sizelove. He was the third of five children, often claiming to be the favorite son. He graduated from Laverne High School in 1965 and continued his education at Oklahoma State University graduating with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. During his college years, one of his highlights was the brotherhood and relationships built with his fraternity, Alpha Gamma Rho, and his veterinary colleagues. It was in those college years, a particular fraternity brother introduced him to his future wife, Julia Mae Roush.

Wayne was a faithful, providing husband for 53 years, a loving father to Holly, Kizzy, Charity, and Blake and a proud Papa Wayne to 13 grandkids. Wayne and Julia made their home and established the Buffalo Veterinary Clinic in Buffalo, Oklahoma where he practiced over 40 years. Wayne was a lifelong learner and always up for a new adventure. Some adventures include camping and fishing vacations involving pack mules, piloting his family on his plane to New York, and pushing Red River surreys to the max. One of the greatest adventures and memories was moving the whole family to UC Davis, California for a year of continuing his education. Wayne always had a heart to train the next generation of ranchers and to stay current in preventative medicine. He remained active in the Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association where he served as president.

Wayne’s relationship with the Lord was evident in his life. It was always priority for him to be in the church with his family. He found joy in praising God through song. He served faithfully in the church and recently was a member of First Baptist Church Laverne.

His recent years were spent ranching, attending Oklahoma State activities, attending his grandkids events, and taking care of Julia. He enjoyed staying connected to his high school classmates, fraternity brothers, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Mary Sizelove. He is survived by his wife, Julia, of the home. His siblings Cary (Lizbeth) Sizelove, Jim (Sunday) Sizelove, Becky (Rodney) Guffy, and Loren (Lyn) Sizelove. Also brother-in-law Clint (Pam) Roush, sister-in-law Ginger (Ray) Read. His children Holly (Brian) Stone of Kansas City, MO, Kizzy (Jason) Webb of Dallas, TX, Charity (Roger) Teal of Laverne, and Blake (Abby) Sizelove of Purcell, OK.

He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Julia and Sam Stone, Everett, Wyatt, Levi, and Nash Webb, Luis, Felix, Mary Katherine, and Luke Teal, Haddy, Truett, and Ivy Sizelove. He leaves many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family has requested those wanting to give a memorial contribution may be given to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 630, Laverne, OK 73848.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
