John Jackson went to fly with the angels on February 4, 2022. He was born August 11, 1944 in Erick, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Hettie (Coley) Jackson.
John worked as a mechanic all his life. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He spent time fishing and hunting with his kids, loved being the clown of everything he did and could fix anything that had an engine. He would take things apart and would put them back together with no instructions.
He married his wife Marla August 1, 1990. They had 31 years together. They shared love for life, family and friends. The love they had for one another was one of a kind.
He married his first wife Linda Perry in 1963. They shared 20 years together.
He Is survived by 9 children, 7 daughters; Caroline Kearns and wife Susan of Greensboro, North Carolina; Beth Holloway of Amarillo, Texas; Kathy Porter of Amarillo, Texas; Marlissa Jackson of Las Vegas, Nevada; Doris Pondenstone of Amarillo, Texas; Paula Abel of Wilburton, Oklahoma and Elizabeth Mathis of Gateville, Texas and 2 sons; Marvin Jackson and husband Hector of Northborough, MA; and Walter Abel of Palestine, Texas. 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 5 brothers; Garland, Charlie, James, Walter and Jesse and 3 sisters; Lorena, Bonnie and Dorothy.
