Joan Jessie (Butler) Boldes

Joan Jessie (Butler) Boldes, age 88, a resident of Laverne, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023 at her residence. She was born the daughter of Bert Byron and Valentine Jessie (Riesland) Butler on April 23, 1935 in Buffalo, Wyoming. She was united in Marriage to Robert Mervyn (Bob) Boldes on May 24, 1952 at her parents residence in Gillette, Wyoming. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2004.

Her and Bob resided in or around Laverne for most of their married lives, made yearly trips to Wyoming to see her family. She loved to camp with their family and they always played a lot of games with them and their grandchildren. It was always a lot of fun. She was always very active and walked daily until she suffered a stroke in her early 80's. She worked at the Laverne Hospital as a cook and at the Laverne Schools as a custodial worker. She did a lot of sewing for the kids when they were young. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart and attended the Assembly of God Church when she was able.

Joan is survived by her sister Gail Ivon (Butler) Gleason and her brother Gary Byron Butler and his wife Jo, two sons Michael Ray Boldes and wife Rita (Sturgeon) of Laverne and Gary Boldes and wife Marita (Connie Macalino) of Japan. Three daughters Angela Diane (Boldes) Beach of Laverne, Virginia (Ginger Boldes) Morris and husband John Jr. of Avalon, Missouri, Bobbie Jo (Boldes) Thomas and husband Dale of Laverne, twelve grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, sister Roberta Lee (Butler, Dooley) Billingsley, sisters and brothers in laws and nephews.
