     James Leston Rampy, was born May 19, 1963, in Amarillo, Texas, to Don and Karen (Stout) Rampy. He passed away January 17, 2019 in Amarillo, Texas.

 

     James grew up and lived around the Denver, Colorado area, graduating High School in Kiowa, Colorado.  He went to work with his father in the construction business, and after discovering his love for woodworking, James became an avid carpenter.

 

     He got married to Debra Kelling at the Zoo in Denver, Colorado and to this union was born 2 sons, Justin and Matthew.

 

     James moved to Nashville, Tennessee and was in the construction business where he got to work on a lot of Entertainers homes. Once he worked in their homes it got to where a lot of them would ask for James personally to work on their homes.  In 2018 he moved back to Amarillo, Texas to be close to family.

 

     James loved to fish was a loyal fan of Dallas Cowboys football.

 

     He was preceded in death by his Grandparents; Leston and Viola Stout and James and Clara Rampy. Father, Don Rampy, and Brother Christopher Rampy.

 

     James is survived by his mother, Karen Rampy; Sisters; Denise Thomas; Terri Montoya and Cheryl Rampy and Brother Justin Rampy. Numerous, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, Nephews and Nieces.

 

 

 

 

     Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Church of the Nazarene in Higgins, Texas with Pastor Cawlie Johnson officiating. Linda Nicholson was the Organist; Lee Thomas played “Amazing Grace” on his Fiddle, Melody Moore sang “Go Rest High on the Mountain”; Casket Bearers were Justin Rampy, Matthew Rampy, Justin Wayne Rampy, James Don Rampy, Michael Dean McCarty and Lee Thomas. Honorary Casket Bearers were Austin and Taylor Rampy. Interment was in the Higgins Cemetery, Higgins, Texas with Lee Thomas playing the Farwell Waltz, with the Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck, OK I charge of arrangements.
