Idell Jean (Cline) Green

Idell Jean Cline was born at home on April 28, 1932, near Rosston, Oklahoma and passed away February 11, 2024, in Laverne, Oklahoma at the age of 91. She was born to Russell Cline and Edith Mae (Pemberton) Cline and left this life February 11, 2024.  She was the oldest of eight siblings and always said she started caring for babies at a very young age.  She graduated from Rosston High School in 1950 and married Charles Green on July 4th that same year, and to that marriage came three children Sharon Kay in 1951, Alan Harold in 1953 and Joe David in 1955. They lived in Garden City, Kansas for a few years then in 1959 moved to the Gate, Oklahoma area where they lived until moving to Shattuck in 1994.  

Idell was a school bus driver for the Laverne school district from 1973 until 1982 then she became the Postmaster in Knowles, Oklahoma until she retired in 1992.  After moving to Shattuck Idell was very active in the Community, Senior Citizens, and the Church of Christ. 

In 2019 Idell moved to Parkview Point Assisted Living in Laverne, Oklahoma where she lived happily until her death.   

It was very rare for Charles and Idell to miss one of the grandkids ball games. They loved going to every sporting event that their Kids, Grandkids and even other local kids participated in.  They were honorary Forgan bulldogs.  They always looked forward to the State Basketball Finals at the Big House in OKC, going with their friends and spending the whole week there. 

Idell is preceded in death by her parents Russell and Edith Mae Cline, 3 brothers Russell Jr., Max, Albert and Bruce, 2 Sisters Francis Blades and Madeline Taylor, husband Charles Green and daughter Sharon Swan and husband Ron Swan.  She is survived by her children Alan and wife Gale Green of Oklahoma City, Joe and wife Mona Green of Rosston, grandchildren Beckie Powell and husband David, Shane Kirkhart and wife Jennifer, John Swan, Jerod Green, Brian Green and wife Makenna, Jason Green and wife Shannon, Reid Green and wife Molly, Kasie Winfrey and husband Dustin, Dace Green and wife Tiffany, 19 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
