Henry “Hank” Everett Evans went to be with the Lord on December 10, 2020 at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS at the age of 81 surrounded by his wife and 3 children.

Hank was born on November 9, 1939 to Karl and Eunice (Johnson) Evans on a ranch near Gate, Oklahoma.  He grew up 3 miles west of Laverne on the family farm and graduated from Laverne High School in 1958.  He served two years in the United States Army.   While serving in Germany he was able to meet up and visit with younger brother, Lloyd, and good friend, Norvan Baldwin.  After his years of service, Hank returned to Laverne, OK and pursued a lifelong career in the oil field.  After years of working for an oil field company he became a self-employed contract pumper, sometimes pumping wells in the Panhandle of Oklahoma and even into Kansas and Texas.  At 81 years old, Hank was still pumping a few wells.

Hank and Mary (Nelson) were married on May 1, 1966 in Woodward, OK.  They had a double wedding ceremony with his younger brother, Lloyd and his wife Debbie.  Hank and Mary made their home in Laverne where their two sons were born.  Work moved them to Beaver where their daughter was born.  After living at Elmwood and Balko, they purchased a farm in the Clearlake Community near where his wife grew up.  This is where they raised their family, farmed and ranched and lived until the time of his passing.

After moving to the Clearlake Community, Hank rejoined the Laverne United Methodist Church where his family attended while he was growing up.  Hank always supported his children in their school and summer activities.  Stock shows were a huge part of their lives and many lifelong friendships were made.

Hank always took the time to make wonderful memories with his family, whether it was water skiing or fishing at lakes, trips to the mountains in Colorado or cheering on the OU Sooners in Norman! He also instilled good work ethics in his children.

Hank is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary and his 3 children: H. Gregg & Tracy Evans of Laverne, OK, David & Laura Evans of Afton, OK and Julia & Matt Riley of Marshall, MO.  Grandchildren: Chelsey & Rustin Hayes, Chantry Evans, Jaden Riley, Bailey Riley, Shalene & Jayson Bentley, Chelsey Rolf, Daesha & Josh Keithley and Tucker Rolf.  Great grandchildren: Cayden Bentley, Rylan Bentley, Ryder Stone, Korbyn Keithley and Brody Keithley.  Siblings: Karl Dean Evans of Woodward, OK, Lloyd and Debbie Evans of Norman, OK and Dorothy and Larry Cornelson of Beaver, OK.  He is also survived by numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Hank is preceded in death by his parents and infant sister Doris Florene Evans.
