Goldie Ruth Barby of Woodward, OK, formerly of Knowles, Oklahoma was born October 14, 1929 in Ellis County, Oklahoma on her family’s farm to Ulysses Baysinger and Rose Khune Baysinger. She passed away February 21, 2022 in Woodward, Oklahoma.
Goldie was married to Rusty Barby on June 25, 1946. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before he passed away August 4, 1996. They had sons Phillip Barby, Tim Barby and Russell Barby. She graduated from Shattuck High School in 1946 and dedicated her life to being a rancher’s wife and a mother. She enjoyed reading the Bible, reading books, working crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, gardening, word searches, cooking, sewing, riding horses and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, treating them with candy and Dr. Pepper. She also loved spending time on the ranch with the cows and horses. She was quite a hand! God was her rock and on Him she leaned throughout her life, especially through the loss of her husband, sons and her home in the fire of 2017. The day the Lord took her home she told her son that this was the day that the Lord would take her home and she was so happy.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rusty, sons Phillip Barby and Tim Barby, brothers Grant Baysinger and Phillip Baysinger and sisters Dorothy Houston, Gloria Bandy and Gene Sloan.
Survivors include her son Russell Barby of Laverne, OK, daughter Pam Andrews and husband Denny of Gate, OK, grandkids Ben Barby and wife Brandy, Sara, Belinda, Barbie Jo and Becky, great grandchildren Shakia, Ollie, Claire and Blaine as well as numerous cousins and other relatives.
