Last Thursday the 21st the world lost The Dad of Dads, the giver on Christmas and the fix-it man (if it needed it or not). Gerald Evan Nicholson was born Feb 12th, 1945 and left us Dec. 21st, 2023. He grew up in the city of Laverne, OK where he met his bride and his world, Juanita. He was a career truck driver, enjoying traveling the United States and Canada, even taking his grandchildren on some of his long-haul adventures. After years of rigging he settled down in Woodward OK. This is where he would be known as the best of crossing guards and the most reliable of fixers for the Woodward school district. He spent almost every Christmas in the city handing out food at shelters dressed in his Santa's best.
He is survived by his Nicholson Family Tree with all of its Grands and Greats as well as friends and family too numerous to mention.
Gone but not forgotten, he now returns to be with his bride, home with her again in time for Christmas.
For those wishing to join us and share your stories the service will be held at the Lavern Funeral Home in Lavern, OK on Saturday the 30th at 3pm.
