Donald Lovell Obituary

Donald (Donnie) Joe Lovell, 45 of Laverne, OK passed away on July 7, 2021. Donnie was born May 11, 1976 in Borger, TX to Don and Connie Lovell. Donnie grew up in Fritch, TX where he lived life to the fullest. Donnie enjoyed fishing, spending time on the farm riding the go cart, and attending horse sales where he would usually come home with a new dog! Donnie was always down for a good time and loved to raise a little hell, like painting the water tower (kids learn from him and don’t do it, it’s a felony)! He attended Sanford-Fritch high school where he graduated in 1994. He began dating Kenna Dudley in December of 1993 while still in high school. They were married on August 15, 2013, it took a little while to tie him down!

Donnie was a father to seven children, Lane, Gabe, Carson, DD, Grayson, Zoey the Queen and the newest addition Zalie aka George. Donnie was a great dad, and he loved his kids with everything in him. Most days after work were spent at an activity of one of the kids from football, basketball, baseball, softball, track or powerlifting. He was always willing to help in any adventure he was roped into from doing baseball concession to setting up and decorating for Laverne After-Prom, Donnie was always willing to do anything for the kids of the community. Donnie was always generous with his time and money, his kids love to tell of the many times they stopped to give someone on the street money, their favorite time being one Easter Sunday that was spent in Bricktown giving the homeless money and wishing them a Happy Easter.

Donnie was a very hard worker and enjoyed working outdoors with his hands. His early years began with him working on cars and boats, then after high school he went to work in the oilfield working on various drilling rigs. He was a roughneck thru and thru, but life on location was getting to him and he wanted to spend more time watching his kids’ activities, unless it was a double header ball game. He was a passionate fan of any sport his kids were doing, they always knew where dad was at, as his voice could be heard from anywhere in the stands. He spent the last couple years working on a ranch. He enjoyed being outdoors and this was perfect for him. He was a dedicated worker and worked hard to make sure his kids knew how to work also. Donnie was always up for a side job or to help someone else out whether he is helping tear down a barn, or cleaning up from a tornado. Donnie was able to see a need and fill it.

Donnie had also gained a new name, Papa Tweet Tweet, and he was so proud of his two grandbabies Penelope and Kyson! Spoiling them was one of his new missions in life! Donnie loved to harass and embarrass his children and his nieces and nephews as often as possible! They all had nicknames and will miss being picked on by him!

Donnie was preceded in death by his grandparents Ron and Katherine Lovell and Wayne and Willie Talbert.

Donnie is survived by his wife Kenna of the home. His son Lane and wife Carol and their children Penelpoe and Kyson of Crestview, FL. His children Gabe, Carson, DD, Grayson, Zoey, and Zalie of the home. His parents Don and Connie Lovell of Sanger, TX. His in-laws Kenneth and Jeannie Dudley of Laverne, OK. His sisters Brandi Drury of Amarillo, TX, Elisha and husband Dennis McLaughlin of Borger, TX, and Lorri Tarango of San Jose, CA his brother Justin and wife Apryl of Krum, TX. His sisters in laws AmyJo and her husband Tim Wetzel of Laverne, Lindsey and her husband Garrett Prosofsky of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, and Kara and her husband Charlie Thex of Laverne, OK. Numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles, and cousins that he loved dearly.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
