David Lynn Brunson

David Lynn Brunson was born March 25, 1975 in Guymon, Oklahoma to David and Clydene (Clark) Brunson. He moved with his parents to Laverne in 1986. He attended Laverne Public Schools starting in 5th grade up until he graduated with the class of ‘94. After graduation he worked in Laverne for the Conoco filing station, now Maggie’s Mini Mart, until he moved to Weatherford in 1998. He lived in Weatherford until 2003 when he moved to Chickasha for a career with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. This is where he met the love of his life, Charlene.

David married the absolute love of his life, Charlene Yvette (Thomas) Brunson on October 1, 2005 in Chickasha, Oklahoma where they made their home. David gained a stepson Danny Mealer and a stepdaughter Leslie Edwards in his marriage to Charlene. He was later blessed with two grandchildren, Meghan and Baylee who became the star of his eye.

David’s passion in life was playing video games, collecting Star Wars anything, OSU football, the Buffalo Bills, stock car racing, and most of all spending time with his grandkids, especially after the passing of his wife in 2020 to Covid-19. He always made it a habit of keeping in close contact with his friends and family, whether it be by phone, getting together with friends to go to the movies, play video games, or watching some football. David also had a passion for the Lord Jesus Christ who he considered his personal savior.

David passed away at his home in Chickasha on October 22, 2023 at the age of 48. He is preceded in death by his wife, Charlene, grandparents Glenn and Esther Brunson, Clyde and Joanna Clark and Jeannie Grimm, his mother Clydene, and nephew Dain Brunson.

David is survived by his father David Brunson of Pampa Texas, brother Alan Brunson and his wife Amber Brunson of Seiling, OK, sister Nicole Price and her husband Lee of Pampa, TX, sister Melissa Winters and her husband Billy of Melbourne, FL., stepdaughter Leslie Edwards and her husband Matthew of Chickasha, OK, stepson Danny Mealer of Houston, TX., granddaughters Baylee and Meghan, nephews Devon Brunson and his partner Strick Brunson, Blade Brunson and his wife Maygan Brunson, Braiden Brunson, and Tyler Brunson. Nieces Summer Price, Shyann Price, and Roxanne Price, his best friend Clayton Juhl and many friends and family as well. 

David was a gentle giant and will be missed by many.
