David Edward Short, 54-year-old Gage resident passed away in his home Monday, April 12th. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

 

     David was born in Ontario, California and moved to Oklahoma in 1976 where he made his home.  He worked in the oil field for 17 years and had been doing odd jobs ever since.  He met Sue Islam in October of 1999 and they raise three children, Zee, Sarin, and Zac.

 

 

   David was preceded in death by his brother Wayne Wilbert Short, his stepdad Robert Lee Bellows and mother Carol Jean Bellows of Gage. He is survived by his wife Sue Islam of Gage; son Zerumiah Islam, wife Christina, and their  sons Zane and Zayden; daughter Sarin, and her spouse Kenneth Witte and their son Jeremiah; son Zacariah and fiancé Shana Brown; sister Debbie Antrim and husband Daniel,  their daughter Carla Lynn and husband Marvin,  their son Steven, and daughter Cara, son  James and wife Amanda, and their daughter Kaylee and son Lucas; sister Pamela Jean Anderson and husband Todd of Apple Valley, California and their daughter Marissa and her husband Ben, and their daughter Liberty of Bullhead, Arizona; and daughter Carolyn Anderson of Apple Valley, California; nephew Justin Short of Shattuck, and niece Jamie McNeal of Oklahoma City.

 

     David had many friends and people he considered family such as Dean Chapman, Rick Bozarth, and many, many more. David was a hard worker, and a jack of all trades. He was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether he knew them or not.  He never really knew a stranger, and liked almost everyone. He will be missed by many.

 

     Arrangements were handled by the Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck, OK.
