Clarence Albert Jones

Clarence Albert (PeeWee) Jones, 92, died surrounded by his family on January 2, 2022 at his home in Laverne, Oklahoma. He was born July 18, 1929 at Sedan, Kansas, the son of Oscar and Rachel (Williams) Jones.

Clarence graduated from Pampa, Texas High School, class of 1947. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy for 18 months. In 1951 he married Wanda Morehead. They celebrated 72 years of marriage. Clarence worked as a carpenter with his father before going to work at Sun Oil where he worked for 35 years. He retired at age 55 as an operator at the gas plant west of Laverne.

Throughout his life, Clarence enjoyed spending time with family and friends, enjoying a good cigar with his closest friends, reading and keeping a journal. Being a true sportsman and conservationist, he loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and spent countless hours on the lake and in the field.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Ida Mae Boland and Betty Hink and an infant son.

He is survived by his wife Wanda (Morehead) Jones, sons; Michael Jones and his wife, Teresa, of Piedmont, Oklahoma, Mark Jones of Laverne, Oklahoma, two grandchildren; Ashley Leming and husband Mart, Austin Jones and wife Courtney and granddaughter by marriage Whitney Morgan and husband Todd; great grandchildren, Turner, Walker and Finley Leming, Quinn and Max Jones, Doss and Braun Morgan and several nieces and nephews. Also loved by Clarence were two special girls Jennifer and Summer.
