Clara Dell Hartley (Tyler) passed away on May 9, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 88. She was born on June 30, 1935 in Comanche, Oklahoma. Clara met Lynn Hartley in Comanche, OK. and they married on Dec. 1, 1951. They eventually moved to Laverne in the early 1950's. They had three children, Debbie, David and Dayna. They stayed in Laverne for the rest of their lives together, making many dear friends.
Clara had a fulfilling career that began at Buffalo nursing home in the early 1970s, where she worked as a craft lady alongside her dear friend, Roxie Boise. Later, she pursued her passion for nursing, becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) after completing her education in Woodward, OK. Clara dedicated many years of service at Harper County Community Hospital in Buffalo, OK, where she touched the lives of countless patients, families, and colleagues with her compassionate care and kind heart.
Throughout her life, Clara found joy in her faith and service to the United Methodist Church of Laverne, OK. She lived out her beliefs through acts of love and kindness, teaching Sunday School, leading youth groups, and actively participating in church activities. Clara's unwavering faith was a guiding light in her life, and she shared it generously with those around her. She will most surely be remembered by how she loved the Lord not by her words but her walk in faith. She made you want to be a better person just by being in her presence. She truly lived her faith.
She was a devoted member of the Laverne Senior Citizens center, where she volunteered her time to help others in need. Clara's selflessness and caring nature endeared her to all who knew her. Clara had a servant's heart and has helped many with home health care. You could always count on her to be available when some needed help. She just had a love for people.
In her free time, Clara enjoyed traveling with lifelong friends (Margie, Carolyn, Terry, Karen and Leo). She and Jerry Rockhold spent many fun times together as well. In the last several years you wouldn't find Clara without Arliss running around town. They usually ended up at Maggie's drinking coffee and visiting with whoever stopped in that day.
Clara is survived by her children: Dayna Laverentz and husband Brian of Woodward, OK, David Hartley of Pinellas Park, FL, and Debbie Stinson and husband Jim of Laverne, OK. She is also survived by her grandchildren Brook Hope and family of Laverne, OK, Dirk Stinson and family of Follett, TX, Dex Stinson and family of Hardesty, OK, Tyler Hartley and family of Blanchard, OK, April Pinero and family of Pueblo, CO, Kelsey Radford and family of Woodward, OK and Shantel Radford and family of Amarillo, TX.
