Billy Doyle Howard, age 68, was born on August 6, 1957, in Perryton, Texas, to Roy and Fern Howard. He grew up in Darrouzett, Texas, and Logan, Oklahoma. Billy passed away on February 15, 2026, at his home on his beloved farm in Logan, Oklahoma.
Billy attended school in Darrouzett, where he was active in athletics and FFA. His involvement in FFA sparked a lifelong passion for show pigs, and throughout the years he generously mentored and assisted many young people with their livestock projects. He graduated from Darrouzett High School in 1975 and enlisted in the United States Navy in August of that year. Billy served aboard the USS Wabash, primarily in the Western Pacific, until receiving an honorable discharge on August 2, 1979.
Following his military service, Billy returned home and worked for the Duke Ranch for several years before going to work with Northern Natural Gas and later on retiring from DCP in 2024.
Billy was preceded in death by his father, Roy Howard, and his brothers, Danny Howard, Donnie Howard, and Derick Howard.
He is survived by his mother, Fern Howard; his sister, Royal and husband John of Azle, Texas; his brother, Terry Howard of Slaton, Texas; and his sister-in-law, Debbie Howard of Miami, Texas. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Devin Howard (Kenna) of Wheeler, Texas; Dayne Howard (Monica) of Pampa, Texas; Dustin Howard (Carlee) of Mansfield, Texas; Derek Howard (Krystal) of Blanchard, Oklahoma; Adam Ward (Fernanda) of Southlake, Texas; Jill Cross (Josh) of Austin, Texas; and Carly Sawford (Alex) of Argyle, Texas, along with many other cherished relatives and close friends — especially the Bowling children and the Bryer children, who held a special place in his heart.
