Billy Elvin Hancock was born on February 11, 1934, to Archie and Bertha (Torrance) Hancock in Selman, Oklahoma. He passed from this life on October 3, 2020, at the Beaver County Nursing Home.
Billy attend school in a one room school at Pleasant Valley, Oklahoma, for five years. The family moved to Laverne, Oklahoma, where he graduated with the class of 1955.
Billy was drafted into the Army in 1956. He did a tour in Germany. He was Honorably Discharged in 1958. Billy returned to Laverne where he farmed and worked for several farmers in the area. He later retired and moved into town. He spent many hours at the Laverne Senior Citizens. As his health declined, he moved to the Beaver County Nursing Home in November 2015.
Billy is survived by his sister, Elsie Smith of Beaver, his brother in law, Jim Peacock, 9 nieces and 2 nephews, and many great nieces and great nephews who fondly referred to him as Uncle Bill. He is also survived by a special friend, Sue Hampton of Beaver.
He is preceeded in death by his parents, one brother, Jr. Baxter, four sisters, Mary Crowder, Virginia White, Ila Peacock and Judith Hancock.
