Auva Louise (Hayes) Wood

Auval Louise (Sam) (Hayes) Wood was born on April 1, 1938, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Robert “Bob” Columbus Hayes and Myrtle (Hendrickson) Hayes. Louise was the second child of 11 children. She entered into rest on May 9, 2019, in Buffalo, Oklahoma.

When Louise was in High school she met Vernon Beal, they were married February 24, 1955, and to this union, 4 daughters were born; Patricia Lynn, Evelyn Diane, Wanda Jean, and Robin Rene.

Louise worked as a nurse assistant. During 1963, Louise moved back to Boise City, Oklahoma and Vernon and her divorced.

Louise was working as a waitress in Boise City when she met Earl “Woody” Wood.  On March 29, 1966, Louise and Earl married and to this union, they have 3 children; Eva Jo, Earl Spencer, and Theresa Louisa and she gained a stepdaughter Brenda Kay Wood.

Louise worked many jobs throughout the years. She was a bookkeeper, truck drive which allowed her to drive across the county with Earl. She worked at the Fruit Loom Factory in Woodward, Oklahoma, Walmart and at the Buffalo Feed Yard.

In 1996 Earl passed away and soon after her mother became ill. So Louise and her sisters took care of her.

She proceeded in death father; Robert Hayes , mother; Myrtle Hayes, sister; Betty Hayes, brother; Robert , sisters; Maudie Hobert, Lorine Verhoeff, nephew Gregory Okerstrom, Brother Iams, Jim Bigley, Terry Bacman, Robert Calkins Mike Long, step-daughter Brenda Kay Wood, daughters Diane, Theresa, Daughter in law Julie Dixon Wood, son in laws Tracy Broadbent  & Mickey Stalling

She was survived by sisters; Lola Begley of Ark City, KS, Linda & Mike Miller of Fargo, OK, Judy & John Gallagher of Ponca City, OK, May Miller of Ark City, KS, Ruby & Jim Hassler of Higgin, TX, Debra & Mike Ramsey, Children; Patricia &Robert Morrow of Richland, MO, Wanda & Gary Fournier of El Dorado, KS, Robin and James Cawthow of Iberia, MO, Eva Jo & Scott Batman of Rosston, OK, Earl Spencer Wood of Woodward, OK, 25 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and many other family.
