Alva Rae Purgason

Alva Rae Purgason passed away December 4, 2021 at Integris Parkway in Edmond, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Billie Leigh ( Funk) Purgason Ehlers and Bryan Gillis Purgason, born February 28, 1955 in Pasco, Washington.

Alva and Jim Sheer were married from 1976 through 1984.

Alva is survived by daughter, Claressa Carter of Stillwater, Oklahoma, son, Golden Scheer of Boise D’Are, Missouri, daughter, Juliet Stokes of Pocahontas, Arkansas, daughter, Penny Dennis of Little Rock, Arkansas and daughter Candyann Staton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, brother Gillis Purgason and sisters Mary Cresswell, Sue Albin, Neva Reeves and Ramona Schilling.

She was preceded in death by her parents Billie Leigh( Funk) Purgason Ehlers and Bryan Gillis Purgason.

Alva enjoyed crocheting, playing the harmonica and guitar, and her pets Popeye the dog and cats. She also enjoyed spending time in the sunshine, spending time with her family, listening to hymns, baking, going to eat a hamburger with her sisters and Top O’Texas coffee.

She will always be remembered for her generosity and wit.

 A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Follett, Texas on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 2:00 PM. Inurnment will take place at the Fairmont Cemetery, Follett, Texas following the service.
