Victor E. Messner Sr.

Victor Elmer Messner of Follett, Tx, passed away on October 11, 2018, in Perryton, Tx at the age of 77.

He was born in Shattuck, Ok, June 6, 1941, to Wyette and Ethlyn (Douglas) Messner.

He was raised at Capital Hill until they moved to the Slapout, Ok area. He attended the Overstreet School until 1956 and graduated high school in Laverne, Ok in 1959.

During the years following graduation he could be found working on the family farm or going on harvest. His love was going on harvest, until 1970 when he was introduced to the woman he was going to marry.

Victor and Loreta (Druce) were married on September 19, 1970 after he returned home from harvest. During their time together four children were born. He continued to do farm work throughout the years and eventually went to work for Lipscomb County in 1979 as a heavy equipment operator. After 23 years, he retired.

During retirement, he spent a couple of summers working for Baldwin Harvesting and enjoyed every moment he got with his grandkids.

Victor is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Velma Morris, a brother, Larry Messner, Wife, Loreta, two sons, Frederick and Andrew and one grandson, Victor Kaylub.

He is survived by a son, Victor Messner, Jr of Woodward, Ok, a daughter, Theresa Messner of Follett, Tx. Nine grandchildren, Jesse Messner, Jacob Spangler, Brent Spangler, Kathryn Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Harli Anaya, Mackenzie Messner, Jackson Messner and Wyatt Messner. Three great-grandchildren Haylei Nolan, Scarlette and Elizabeth Anaya and numerous family and friends.
