RICHARD LEE BARRINGER

     Richard Lee Barringer “Dick” was born in Deposit, New York on September 17, 1946 to Marshall William Barringer and Marcella (Scrambling) Barringer.

     At the age of 17 Dick joined the U.S. Army serving our Country for six years also serving in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968.

     Richard was married to Mary Barringer and had one son, Richard Lee Jr.  They later divorced.  Richard also had a daughter Sonya.  In 1982 Richard meet Skeeter Lindsey and the two were meant to be together. They married in 1986.

     Richard worked for Seaboard in Guymon, Oklahoma and for Roy Hicks in Gruver, Texas.  After moving to Gage, Oklahoma he worked as a truck Driver in oilfield.  He was injured while working in the oilfield and then he retired.

     He spent his retirement years enjoying fishing and camping.  He spent lots of time visiting family in New York and Georgia as well as all of his step grandchildren in Ohio.

     Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Brother, Walt Barringer and sisters Carol Kennedy  and Sonya Barringer and son Richard Barringer Jr. as well as his beloved wife Skeeter Barringer.

     He is survived by two brothers, Arnold Barringer and wife Violet from Hancock, New York and William Barringer and fiancée Becky from Columbus, Georgia, and step children,  Andy, Ray and Richard Lindsey and two step daughters, Norma Bellar and Virginia Mann.

 Memorial in his name and memory may be given to the Gage American Legion in care of the Mason Funeral Home, P.O. Box 695, Shattuck, OK 73858.
