Novella Kirkley

Novella Harguess Kirkley, 97, from Shattuck Ok., formerly from Ft. Worth TX., was born on January 19, 1921 in Deport TX. to Alpha Earl and Cora Mae (Butler) Harguess.  She was united in marriage to James Perry Kirkley on June 29th, 1940.   To this union three sons were born, David Earl, James Lyndell, and Kim Max.

Novella was a homemaker, nurse, and florist.  She loved her family and cherished her time with them.  She was devoted to meeting the needs of others and going the extra mile for each one.   She made special dishes for individuals at holidays.  Everyone in the family looked forward to brown bags at Christmas where little gifts were gathered all year long for each family member.  The bags were labeled and tied with red yarn. Novella loved the Lord and exemplified that in her life.  She enjoyed lake trips and loved fishing, working in the yard and growing beautiful flowers.  Novella will be missed by family, friends, and caretakers.

Novella was preceded in death by husband James Perry Kirkley, Brothers: Jack, Oather, Morris, and Sister: Virgie.

Novella is survived by sons: David and wife Dianna of Cleburne, Lyndell and wife Cheryl of Sulphur Springs, and Kim of Fort Worth and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and caregivers.
