Mary Lea Hart passed away September 7, 2019 at the age of 90 years.

 

Mary Lea, daughter of Ray Mont and Maude Gertrude (Burgin) Aldridge was born November 28 1928.  She was born at home in Laverne, Ok with Dr. Barber doing the delivery for $26.00.

She attended the Laverne school until graduation in 1946.  The summer of 1946, she started working at First National Bank in Laverne until she retired, Dec. 31, 1986 after working 40 years at the age of 58 years. Mary Lea married her High School sweetheart H.R Hart September 25, 1949.While he was in the U.S. Marine Corp, she spent a year in l953 in Santa Ana, CA with H.R. and worked in the Court House and  Commercial National Bank until he left for Japan. 

 

H.R. and Mary Lea had five children, 2 boys and 3 girls.  She was an active member of First Christian Church, Laverne and later moved membership to First Christian Church of Woodward. After retiring, they enjoyed traveling and camping and cooking for friends and family. 

They entertained in their home in Laverne, the Alumni Classes of 1946 and 1947 every 5 years until they moved to Woodward.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents and son, Jay Hart.

 

Survivors include her husband H.R., 3 daughters, Gale and husband Alan Green of Oklahoma City, Vicki Hart of Woodward, Mona and husband Kenny Schmitz of Woodward, 1 son, Ray and wife Lisa Hart of Eureka Springs, Ark., and 12 grandchildren, Jerod, Brian and wife Makenna, and Jason and wife Shannon Green, Derrick and wife Jamie Pemberton, Trevor Pemberton, Tanner, Conner, and Parker Schmitz, Evan and Karlee Hart, Kaleigh Angleton, Chanse and wife Lindsay Hart.  8 great grandchildren, Leland and Alayna Pemberton, Fisher and Scarlett Green, Jack and Halle Green, Noble and Cassien Hart.

 

In January of 2012, at the age of 83, Mary Lea and H.R. bought a lovely home in Woodward, OK.  They felt they were living in luxury in their last years.  They were blessed to have daughter, Vicki, make her apartment upstairs to help care for them.  They always said that they were so blessed to have wonderful kids that made their days wonderful and all got along so well.
