     On May 1, 1953, was born to Odell and Esther Bowles, and to help welcome her home was big Brother Douglas and big sister Judith Ann, then later, she got to welcome home little sister Janet Sue. They made their home South of Shattuck in a little Community called Podunk Corner, where they were Dairyman and farmers.  Her dad also worked for the Arnett County Dept. Her mother was a nurse at the Shattuck Newman Memorial Hospital. Later, in September of 1967 losing their father, they moved to town.  

  She attended grade school, Junior High and High School, In the Shattuck School System.  After graduation. In 1971, She married Larry June 5, 1971.  They made their home in Shattuck and later relocated in Oklahoma City, where she was employed width American Fidelity Insurance, Apartment Manager, and Receptionist for American Trailer.

     1974 they moved back to Shattuck where she was employed at the Newman Memorial Hospital and later she became a full-time Mother for Brandon James, Ryan James, Lanae Lynn and Brenten James.

     She was a babysitter for John David Appel and Jeremy and Anna McIntosh. She then decided to open her own Pre-School, with the help of Susana Frederick, she became Ms. Marlene.

     Marlene and Larry spent a lot of time and drove many miles between all the ballgames and cheerleading from Grade School all the way till her last baby graduated. She really enjoyed attending all the School activities, football games and State Football Playoffs and most of all State Championships.

     Later, she worked for Dr. Burris as a Receptionist until 2010 when she developed early systems of her illness.

     She was a member of High Adventure Christian Ministry, here she always had a vision for the purpose of High Adventure.  After the sale of High Adventure, Lynn Boomer and the Salvation Army had made an Endowment in the name of Marlene to be used in the needs of people in Ellis County.

     She always had love for her heavenly father, Husband, Children and Granddaughters.  Mrs. Marlene will be missed by many, Especially her family.  But she will be happy now, no more pain, or suffering. She is with her heavenly father, mother, and her dad that she hasn’t seen since 1967, and most of all, Grandma Koch.

     She leaves behind Husband Larry Longhofer, of Shattuck, Ok; Brandon Longhofer of Oklahoma City, Ryan, Ella Rose, and Lily Lee of Shattuck; LaNae Lynn and Husband Dr. Rick Traczyk and Kaelan Ava of Oklahoma City; Brenten and wife Kelsey Jane, Milah Lynn and Amara Clay of Shattuck, Douglas and wife Kay Bowles of Buffalo, Judith Ann, and  Husband Larry Schoenhals of Edmond, Janet Sue and husband Bradley Vincent of Tulsa, Karen Sue and husband Pee Wee Branstetter of Arnett, Loretta Longhofer, JoAnn and husband Kenny Barker of Woodward, and many Cousins, nieces and Nephews and friends.
