Jay Dee Morris

Jay Dee Morris, a long-time resident of Laverne, Oklahoma passed from this life September 1^st, 2017 at the Tulsa Cancer Center, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born at the family home in Major County on October 11, 1941 to Clarence and Alice (Colten) Morris.

   In his early years, Jay Dee worked at Harold Hedge’s, Phillips 66 gas station as a full-service attendant. He then moved into a career path in the oil field industry. Later he changed to driving a truck till he had a truck accident.

   Jay Dee loved fishing, boating, and camping. He also made several quilts. He enjoyed playing cards, his guitar and singing. He enjoyed being around his family and attending the family reunions.

   He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lila Mae.

Jay Dee leaves his wife, Gladys (Sally), of the home; sons, Chad Morris and wife, Patty, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Clay Morris and Stacie Mitchell of Piedmont, Oklahoma, and Clint Morris and Rayma Porter of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter, Carla Morris and Jeff Bock of Guthrie, Oklahoma; 2 step sons, Rick Radford and Rhonda of Amarillo, Texas, and Russ Radford and Caitlin O’Brien of Clinton, Oklahoma; step daughter, Delores Daniels and Neil of Dublin, Texas, several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Clara Wyatt of Lubbock, Texas; brothers, Kermit Morris  of Goodland, Kansas, Tonie Morris  and wife, Georgina, of Oak Grove, Missouri, and Ron Morris of Lubbock, Texas,  and many nieces and nephews.
