Jack Dempsy Detrixhe was born in Higgins, Tx. on January 06, 1931. His parents were Ben F. Detrixhe and Barbara Belle Mercer. Jack attended Higgins School and graduated in 1949.  He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and discharged from Lackland airforce in San Antonio, Tx in sept 1949.
He met Darlene the day after the 1947 tornado and they became high school sweethearts throughout school and were married in 1950. To this union was born Stephen Detrixhe and Diana Christenson, both of Higgins. Jack and Darlene lived in the Higgins community, except for a time while they looked for employment in other places.  They later moved back to Higgins where they raised their two children. Jack and family became members of the First Baptist Church in 1964.
Jack with Darlene alongside him built a construction business and later built a trucking business lasting over 15 years, and they were very much team players in sales. They later sold their businesses because of health problems and a fire. Then they started a small cattle business that lasted 30 years. Jack was a wonderful husband and a loving father. He had a great love for the Lord and his family.
After 30 years in the cattle business, their grassland was destroyed by a fire and they had to sell the cattle.
The Lord called him home on October, 31st.
Jack is survived by a son, Stephen; a daughter, Diana; and an older brother, Ben Detrixhe of Mooreland, Ok. He is also survived by his only grandson, Jeff of Higgins; great-grandchildren, Joe of Thomas, ok; Jeremy of Thomas, ok; Jennifer of Higgins, tx; little Jack of Higgins, tx; and great-great-grandchildren, Cryslinn of Thomas, ok; Brady of Thomas, ok; Braylon and Brantley of Higgins, tx; and many other relatives and a host of friends.
We accept the grace and strength of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ but will miss Jack very much. We know he is in a better place, happy, not in pain, and not suffering anymore.  We give praise to the Lord for his infinite mercy.
