ILENE KAY (VAUGHN) VAUGHN

Ilene Kay Vaughn passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in Woodward, Oklahoma.  She was born on November 3, 1947 to Raymond A. and Mary Louise (Wasson) Vaughn in Newell, West Virginia.
Ilene grew up and graduated from school in Chester, West Virginia.  Upon turning the age of 18, she moved to Woodward, Oklahoma.  On June 4, 1971 she married Thomas R. Morford in Buffalo, Oklahoma.  The couple made their home in Ft. Supply.
Ilene started working at Western State Hospital in 1969 and then the Light House, retiring after 33 years of service.  In 2001 Ilene came out of retirement to work at Woodward Hospital.  Ilene then worked as a security guard for Vescon, her post being CF Industries.  Ilene again retired in 2010 until recently working for The Bloom Flower Shop of Woodward until her passing.
Ilene loved spending time with her two grandsons, Tyler and Trever.  She also enjoyed cooking, raising her chickens, and spending time with friends.  Spending time with her dog Dozer was also a favorite pastime.  Another of Ilene’s passions was the ministry, being baptized in 1975 and spending many fulfilling hours reading her Bible.
Ilene is preceded in death by her husband Thomas R. Morford, her parents Raymond and Mary Louise Vaughn, her twin sister Irene Dunn, and a grandson Gerald Petchl, Jr.
Survivors include her daughters:  Melissa and Robert Thompson of Terra Cita, Oklahoma; Tomma Morford of Woodward, Oklahoma; Terrie and Bobby Moss of Goliad, Texas; Tammy Morford of Poteet, Texas; a brother Ronald and Vicky Vaughn of Newell, West Virginia; a sister Barbara Vaughn of Fayetteville, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren:  Tyler Taylor, Trever Taylor, Jacoby Morford, John Thompson, Clarissa Fifield, Duston Young, Timothy Pollard, Jamie Wreath, Thomas H. Morford, Tosha Young, and Tamarea Smith; 8 great-grandchildren:  Harley and Jayana Wreath, Nathan and Graden Fifield, Tradon Pollard, Trenton, Samuel, Willis, and Tanee Smith, Tiffany and Dylan Chrisman; 3 nieces:  Becky and Joe Sager of Woodward, Oklahoma, Loretta and Lige Wynn of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Michelle and Jody Hudson of Sayre, Oklahoma; a nephew Brian and Carla Dunn of Tallahassee, Florida; a great-niece Brandy and Francis Engler of California;  numerous other family members, a host of friends, and special friends: Jim Keeney and family, Vickie O’Handley and family.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward, Oklahoma with Pastor Carl Clark presiding with Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck, Oklahoma in charge of arrangements.
