Eula Francis (Colten) Bozarth, 98, of Laverne, went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2017 at the Alliance Health Center in Woodward, OK. She was born August 2, 1919 to Elmer & Josephine (Richard) in Los Almaos County, Colorado, just northeast of Trinidad where her daddy homesteaded in 1923 or 1924.

The family moved to several different places throughout her young life, first, to Lamas, Colorado, in 1925, just 8 miles west of Lamar. In the fall of 1928, they moved by horse and wagons to Beaver, Oklahoma, 4 miles south and 2 miles east of Beaver. The spring of 1929, they moved 11 miles west and ¾ mile of Laverne which is just north of the Bozarth Cemetery on the east side of the road. She began attended school at the Fairview School House which is north of the cemetery.  September 26, 1935, they moved to Seiling, Oklahoma, on a farm. In the spring of 1936, they moved back to Beaver, Oklahoma, on Grandma Richard’s place where she attended Beaver High School.

On December 18, 1937 Auto and Eula were joined in marriage in Beaver, Oklahoma by Judge Otto Barby. To this union they were blessed with 6 children; Marvin, Auto, David, Fay, Ivan, and Melvin. In 1938, the young couple moved west of Laverne. In 1943 they bought the farm of 160 acres in Beaver County on the Knowles Road and 1 and ½ miles south of the Beaver River where they called home until moving in to the Town of Laverne in 1956.

Eula was a housewife and mother until 1978. She started doing home healthcare for the elderly until she retired at the age of 86. She enjoyed canning, quilting, sewing, gardening, but most of all she loved going to church.

Eula was preceded in death by her parents, 8 brothers, 3 sisters, and her husband, Auto, son, David and 3 daughters in law.

She has survived by her five children, Marvin and wife, Rosie, Auto and wife, Doris, Fay Firth and husband Billy, Ivan and wife, Connie, Melvin and wife, Terry,  previous daughter in law, Sandra Bozarth, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
