Ethel Gloria (Smith) Richardson

Ethel Gloria (Smith) Richardson, the daughter of Samuel Leslie Smith and Gladys Odessa (Taylor) Smith Jenkins was born in Granby, MO on January 9, 1928 and departed this life at Mercy Hospice, Oklahoma City, OK on March 24, 2018 at the age of 90 years, 2 months, and 15 days.

                She attended Selman schools and Missouri schools graduating from Diamond High School in Diamond, MO with the Class of 1945 at the age of 17. Upon graduation she moved to California where she worked at Skaggs Alpha-Beta and as a Telephone Operator.

                She married Merlin Kenneth Richardson on April 23, 1947 in Yuma, AZ and to this union were born three children: Diane Long of Lawton, OK, Lance (Karen) Richardson of Gate, OK, and Crystal (Dave) Yerka of Yukon, OK.

                She survived by her three children, a brother; Sherman Smith of Wimauma, FL, two sisters; Rhonda Ashby of Tampa, FL and Ronita Green of Sarasota, FL; six grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

                She was preceded in death by her husband; Merlin of 55 years, her parents; Samuel Smith and Gladys Jenkins, sisters; Esther Smith and Lucille Andrews, brothers; Warren Smith, Rondal Royal, Robert, Roland Jenkins, and Edward Best.
