Dorothy Mae Owens was the daughter of Jenniferd and Clifford Owens, born October 9, 1945 in Slaton, Texas. Dorothy loved the music of the 60s her favorites were The Beatles and Sonny and Cher. Dorothy also enjoyed reading and listening to gospel music, primarily the Gaithers. Dorothy was an avid Denver Broncos fan.

Dorothy graduated from Selman High School in 1963 and attended business school in Oklahoma City.

She worked as a secretary before spending several years working in international banking.

In 1995 she moved back to Buffalo and worked for several years as a CNA at Grace living Center and Protecion Valley Manor. 

In 2001 she moved to South Fork, Colorado to help her niece manage a motel.

Dorothy became ill and needed care so she moved back and spent several years in the Protection Valley Manor, and then she moved to Grace living Center in 2011 to be closer to her sister Sharn.

Although she never married and didn't have any children; she was fond of her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Always an animal lover Dorothy was always willing to take in any stray and showed dogs for many years.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister, LaCheta Oden, brothers, Robert Owens and Jerry Owens, and nephews Chuck Owens and Clay Oden. 

Dorothy left this earthly world on February 16, 2018 at Harper County Community Hospital

Dorothy is survived by her sister, Sharn Huenergardt, nephews Wesley Huenergardt, and Aaron Oden, neices LaQuita Zielke, LaKonia Williams, Dannielle Oden, Rebecca Barrett, Angie Taylor, Debbie Bach, and Beverly Marshall and several great neices and great nephews and many great great neices and great great nephews.
