Darline Appel Detrixhe was born in Lipscomb County Community.  Her parents were Dave and Elizabeth Appel.  Darline attended Lipscomb school until it closed.  She also attended the Union Church in Lipscomb with her parents and older sister Josephine.  Darline then graduated from Higgins ISD in 1949.  She met Jack the day after the 1947 tornado and they became high school sweethearts through school, and were married in 1950.  To this union was born Stephen and Diana Christenson of Higgins.  Darline and Jack lived in Higgins community, except for a time where they looked for employment in other places.  They later moved back to Higgins where they raised their two children.  Darline took Stephen and Diana to the First Baptist Church and became members in 1964.  Darline and Jack built a Construction business and later build a Trucking business over 15 years, and they were very much team players in sales.  They later sold their businesses because of a fire. Then they started a small cattle business that lasted 30 years.  Darline was an excellent homemaker and her great loves were the Lord, Jack and the kids and their cattle.  She had every cow named after a friend in the county.  After 30 years in the cattle business, their grass land was destroyed by a fire and they had to sell the cattle.  About 4 years ago Darline became ill and had to be placed in Abraham Rest Home in Canadian, Texas.  Darline spent the last year and half in the home until the Lord took her home on July 29th.  Darline is survived by her husband of 67 years, Son; Stephen and his wife, Kay; daughter; Diana, and her older sister Josephine.  Her grandson; Jeff and great grand kids; Joe, Jeremy, Jenifer and Jack Detrixhe.  Many other relatives and a host of friends.  We except the grace and strength of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but will miss Darline very much.  We know she is in a better place.  Happy, and in no pain or suffering any more. We give praise to the Lord for his infinite mercy.

Isa 12:2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

Memorials may be made to the Higgins First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 279, Higgins, Texas 79046.
