Clara M. (Schoenhals) Repp, 99, passed away on October 18, 2017 at Woodward, Oklahoma.   Clara was born June 21, 1918, at Tangier, Oklahoma, to Phillip Schafer and Maria (Weidner) Schafer.   In 1939 she married Fred J. Schoenhals, and they lived on a farm southwest of Shattuck,Oklahoma.  They were married for 27 years before his death.  Along with working on the farm and caring for her family, Clara worked as a nurse for a span of 20 years.  In 1980, she married Adolph Repp and moved to his home in Weatherford, Oklahoma.  Together they included and enjoyed both of their families.  In their early married years they traveled extensively in the U.S. and to many countries including Japan, Brazil, England, China, Africa and more.   Clara and Adolph were married for 29 years before his death.   Clara then moved back to Shattuck where she lived independently until moving to an assisted living facility in Woodward a few months prior to her passing.

Clara loved her families!  She cared deeply for her own and Adolph’s family.  She loved being part of their celebrations and enjoyed celebrations they had for her!  After her retirement, she volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Shattuck Hospital and at the Weatherford Hospital.  Many family and friends were recipients of the numerous quilts she made through the years.   She was an excellent cook and made many delicious meals for her family and guests.   She was also an author!  She compiled volumes of information into a book of family history along with photographs of people, antiques, and stories about many events that happened in the lives of herself and her families.  As her family was growing up, she was a dedicated volunteer at church.  She remained devoted to her church and contributed in whatever ways she could.   She will be remembered as a friendly, kind, and caring person who touched the hearts of so many.

She is survived by three children:  Joyce Dowling of Canton, Oklahoma;  Doug Schoenhals and wife Sue Ann of Shattuck, Oklahoma;  Linda Stahlman and husband, Phil of Hays, Kansas.   Also, two step-children:  Noralyn Doughty, Weatherford, Oklahoma; and Jerald Repp of Salisaw, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren ; one brother,  Gottlieb Schafer of Racine, Wisconsin, and a host of nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents,  her husbands, Fred J. Schoenhals and Adolph Repp, great- grandson Cody Edmondson,   sisters Martha Ruppel, Rosa Peil, Frieda Schafer, Ida Kaplan and brothers Ben, Abe, and Fred Schafer.
