Betty May (Schaefer) Higginbotham

Betty ( Schaefer) Higginbotham was born May 27, 1929 in St. Joseph, Michigan to Phillip and Victoria Schaefer. Moved to Shattuck with her family and lived and worked on their wheat farm. After high school she attended colleges in Keene and Alva Texas. Then she met James Higginbotham who was working in the area and they soon got married. Their wedding was the first wedding in the Ebenezer Baptist church on February 11, 1950. Over the next few years they had two boys, Mike and Alan. Betty and James spent over 40 years moving to many states while working for Continental Oil Company. Betty worked and retired from the State of Oklahoma. After James retired he and Betty moved to Purcell Oklahoma where they enjoyed retirement. They spent their time traveling the United States and enjoyed several cruises. As time went on they slowed down and spent their time taking it easy in their home in Purcell. Betty is preceded in death by her               husband James Higginbotham. She is survived      by sons Mike and Alan Higginbotham, granddaughter Jessica Narvaez, grandson James Higginbotham and three great granddaughters.
