Pauline was my cousin. But best of all she was my best friend, fondest playmate and school chum. I loved it when Daddy said, "I'm going to Cecil's. Want to go?(Cecil was my Daddy's brother. He and family lived a couple miles down the road.) There was the time Pauline and I built a raft. We must have overheard the parents talking about an earth dam breaking. All afternoon along with Harold, Pauline's brother, we drug up loose posts that we tied together with pieces of bailing wire we found on the corral fence. Can't remember if there was a flood in the Oklahoma Panhandle but to our young minds we were saving our families. And the old fellow who lived up the road we knew would surely starve if we didn't take him food. Up the dusty road we trudged, barefoot, dust quenching up between our toes carrying a quart jar full of beans leftover from some either my mother or Pauline's mother had fixed for dinner. And the wonderful old barn at Pauline's farm - the hayloft cool and shady. Pauline and I would hide there from Harold, Pauline's pesky younger brother until he figured out where we were and threw loose straw at us.
Those were the day's Pauline, cherished memories of days we thought would never end. You will be missed Dear One.

A very sweet sister-in-law who will be greatly missed. Pauline oved being with her kids grandkids and greats. A sweet gentle soul who is reunited with the love of her life. A very courageous and strong woman who carried on faithfully when she lost Lester. Have alot of good memories.
