MARY ROSE (BAIRD) RUF

     Mary Rose Ruf was born June 27, 1940 at Shattuck, Oklahoma.  She spent her childhood here until she married Charles Ruf on November 6, 1960 in Shattuck, Oklahoma.

     Mary Rose just turned 77 years old on June 27, 2017 and passed away on July 4, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

     Mary Rose was a farmer’s wife and also worked at the Great Western Sugar Company in Morrill, Nebraska for 17 years as an oiler, she kept all of the machines oiled and worked her way up to be boss. Mary and Charles also worked  in Mitchell, Nebraska and later moved to Torrington, Wyoming before moving back to Shattuck, Oklahoma in 1994 and had lived here ever since.  Mary Rose and Charles had a trucking Company and ranched together until they both retired.

     Mary also loved to crochet and make doilies and decorated towels and gave them to her girls and family members.

     Mary Rose has 3 living children, Debra Menkhoff, Christie Ruf and LeRoy Ruf.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Rosa (Becker) Baird and a daughter, Betty Ann Ruf.

     She is survived by her husband, Charles Ruf; daughters, Debra Menkhoff, Christie Ruf and husband, Doug Butler and grandson, Wesley Butler; son, LeRoy Ruf and his wife; sister, Dorothy Smith and husband, Nolan Smith, brother, Harold Baird Jr. and wife, Alberta Baird; 4 nieces and 1 nephew, other relatives and many good friends.

     Memorials made in Mary Rose’s name may be made to the Seventh-day Adventist Church Food Bank, in care of Pat Stock, Route 1, Box 45, Shattuck, OK 73858.
