Laverta found a place in my heart the first time I met her. My mother, Mina Dolores Payton, was Laverta's cousin. They knew each other well over many years. After Mother passed away in 1994, eventually I was able to track down Laverta and attend, with my husband, a Crail Family Reunion in Texas. I visited Laverta and Marvin in Shattuck, OK and went to the Oklahoma farm where my mother and Laverta walked the pathways together. It was a precious time for me. I love Laverta and her family. It was truly a highlight in my life to get to meet all of them. My love and prayers go out to each in the loss of this lovely lady. She was so fun and endearing. And it is especially joyful to know that Laverta and mother are once again united in happy embraces of eternal love.

My heart goes out to all of you. I have fond memories of stories Mom (Bessie Rose Kirkpatrick) and Aunt Helen (Helen Rose Roach) shared about their growing up in Catesby. Laverta, Mom and Aunt Helen enjoyed adventures together as young girls growing up in Catesby.
