Elsie Margaret (Long) Hubbard

Elsie Margaret (Long) Hubbard was born on a farm southeast of Laverne, Oklahoma on October 8, 1928 to Raymond and Ruth (Schrader) Long.  She passed away on July 11, 2017 in Buffalo, Oklahoma.

     Elsie grew up on that farm until she reached womanhood.  She went to Laverne Schools and graduated in 1947.  Then on July 17, 1948 she married Lester L. Hubbard in Perryton, Texas.  They made their home in Laverne.  She became a homemaker and did extra cooking for her family.

     Lester and Elsie had four children:  Lloyd Edward, Jimmy Dwayne, Verl Ray and Linda Lea.  She raised her children until they were grown and headed off to make their own lives.  After that she and Lester enjoyed traveling and making all of the Senior Citizens Dances.  She also enjoyed playing cards at the Center. 

    Elsie is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ruth; husband, Lester; son, Verl; 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

    She is survived by son, Lloyd and wife, Patsy Hubbard; son, Jim Hubbard; daughter, Linda Smith and companion, Lee McGuire; 6 grandkids; 8 great grandkids; 3 great great grandkids and numerous other family and many loving friends.
